When to Look for Blueberries: In the Okanagan Valley, blueberries begin ripening in the first week of July and finish in the middle of September, depending on the variety. The earliest variety is typically Duke, and the last Elliot.

Best Uses for Blueberries: Blueberries are fantastic in desserts, oatmeal, and pancakes, but they’re also good in savory dishes.  Get inspired by First Nation recipes and use blueberries to flavor roasts and stews, add them into savory cornbread, or even on pizza!

How to Store Blueberries: Blueberries are best kept in your fridge for up to a week after purchasing. Blueberries also freeze incredibly well. For fresh berries year round, place them on a baking sheet, freeze, and store in an air-tight bag!
