Taste: There are a few different varieties of plums, but all are juicy and sweet. The darker the plum, the sweeter the plum! Plums wear so many bright and varied colors, from black to green to red to yellow, that selecting them by color tells you little about how ripe they are.

When to Look for Plums: Plums come into season in mid-July and ripen, in secession, until mid-September or even October.

Best Uses for Plums: Plums are amazing when eaten on their own, but they are popular for baking!

How to Store Plums: You can store plums in an uncovered bowl for four or five days, or place in the refrigerator to cool for a sweet treat.
