When to Look for Watermelon: Watermelons have a short growing season in BC, so we carry them starting in August.

Best Uses For Watermelon: There really may not be any better summer snack than a plate of chilled watermelon sliced into wedges, but watermelon compliments a number of savory dishes as well. Try watermelon sliced with cucumbers and jicama and marinated in vinaigrette, or sliced into wedges and sprinkled with mint and salt, or blended with fresh tomatoes into a cooling, lycopene rich summer gazpacho.

How to Store Watermelon: Watermelons can stay whole at room temperature for up to two weeks. Once you've cut them, refrigerate them for wrapped or in an airtight container for 3-4 days.
